2024 Internships
Accounting Intern
To assist various members of the Accounting Department in helping them achieve their goals and responsibilities. These responsibilities will include Account Reconciliations/Analysis and preparation of certain financial reports. This position will give the individual the opportunity to gain fundamental knowledge and a basic understanding of statutory insurance accounting and reinsurance accounting. This individual will gain exposure to some of the accounting systems that are used in the department such as EAS (General Ledger) and FRS (Reinsurance System).
Business Development Intern
In the Business Development Representative internship program, you will work under the direction of a senior level employee and will be given a chance to learn the inner workings of our company from top to bottom. Travel is an important component to the BDR position, so you will spend time on the road with a local BDR and will get a real feel for their average work week. You will also travel with a Loss Control Representative to further your knowledge of our niche. While in the home office in Philadelphia you will interact with each of department to continue expanding your knowledge of the industry.
Claims Intern
During the course of your internship, you will have the opportunity to handle 40 -45 of simple property damage claims. Responsibilities will include: promptly contacting claimants to acknowledge receipt of their claims, verifying coverage level and deductibles on new claims, paying and settling claims, handle subrogation and salvage recovery, collect and enter information in the claims system, provide customer service to claimants by assisting telephone callers with questions and requests, work closely with appropriate claims supervisor to ensure claims are concluded in a timely fashion.
IT Business Analyst Intern
As a liaison between the Business and IT, the primary role of the Business Analyst is to translate general business requirements into formal business and functional requirements. The Business Analyst also supports IT development and testing, plans, and executes User Acceptance Testing, and supports the training the business team on integrating the capability into its work processes.
Underwriting Intern
Working in an internship position under the direction of a senior level employee, completes projects or tasks that support the business area goals and results. Performs tasks by adapting to new or changing situations in a team environment. Gathers Underwriting information, plans and organizes work efficiently and effectively. Applies and learns technical skills appropriate to the specific job assignment.
Policy Service Intern
You will learn to use multiple systems and resources to assist in rating and issuing new business and renewal submissions within company standards. You will also learn how to process endorsements and surety bonds, conditional and non-renewals as per Underwriter instructions, efficiently and accurately organize information within ImageRight and provide “Certified” copies of policies when.
