PLM’s St. Baldrick’s Fundraiser Recap
PLM and all its employees are passionate about giving and are proud of the culture of caring we have established within the organization. In addition to our volunteer events throughout the country and our yearly United Way Campaign, this year we began an ambitious campaign to raise money for the fight against childhood cancer with St. Baldricks.
Over a span of two months, PLM reached out to our employees, business partners, brokers, and customers to raise money for this important cause. On April 18 at our yearly company-wide National Meeting, we concluded our St. Baldrick’s fundraising efforts by hosting a head-shaving event at the Loews Hotel in Philadelphia. With an initial goal of $75,000, we quickly surpassed that number to help raise over $167,000 to support research development in the battle against childhood cancer.
“Thank you to everyone who dedicated their time, money and of course, hair to such an important cause,” said John Smith, President and CEO of PLM. “Having been involved myself with St. Baldrick’s for over 15 years, I am incredibly grateful that our community showed up to make a difference. I’m proud of the work both PLM and our partners within the insurance and wood industries put forward here to support such a critical cause.”
During the head-shaving event, 17 PLM employees “braved the shave” to stand in solidarity with the children who have lost their hair during cancer treatments. The generous contributions towards our fundraiser have helped St. Baldrick’s fund two infrastructure grants towards advanced research in finding a cure for pediatric cancer.
PLM’s St. Baldrick’s Fundraiser is still accepting donations until the end of the year as all contributions made continues to directly benefits the lives of those affected by childhood cancer.
