PLM’s Business Development Staff differentiates us from other carriers
Each of our Business Development Representatives (BDRs) service their own marketing territory, allowing them to understand the specific business environment and risk exposures in their area. Our BDRs are able to identify new opportunities and establish relationships with customers, prospects, local associations and brokers in their regional territories.
BDRs solicit new business opportunities and partner with the insured’s broker of choice. Since we’re an open-brokerage market, we can transact business with any licensed producer. Beyond the solicitation of new business opportunities, the BDR pre-inspects all new business submissions to ensure an account fits our underwriting appetite, meets our loss control guidelines, and follows our minimum automobile standards. The BDR also calls on our existing customers working in a consultative manner to assist them in operating a safer business.
Our Business Development Representatives are your local contacts
Value-added services for both wood-industry customers and brokers
Our BDRs inspect the premises of all prospective insureds.
BDRs create competitive programs tailored for each client based using industry expertise and firsthand knowledge of the account.
Representatives visit most customers on an annual basis to review coverages, make recommendations, and answer any questions they may have.
BDRs meet with producers on an ongoing basis to discuss current and prospective clients. We also consistently look to create new relationships with producers across the United States.
Each BDR attends local industry trade shows and outings to maintain involvement and to keep current with changes in the lumber and building material industries.
Our representatives attend local producer shows and outings to familiarize the local brokerage community with the benefits of doing business with PLM through an open brokerage relationship.
