We’re very excited to unveil our latest video from our new blog series titled “Insights from the Top: 3 Questions with PLM Leaders.” Every month, we’ll feature a different member of our leadership team, offering their perspectives on industry trends and the crucial role PLM plays in addressing the needs of the wood niche.
In this month’s edition, we are joined by VP of Field Operations – Lindsey DiGangi
Q: What inspired you to get into marketing?
Lindsey DiGangi: It’s been a winding road to get into the marketing department. I spent six years with the company before I found myself in the department. I was able I have the opportunity to work in a handful of different areas on different projects, with different processes, with different people.
What I learned from that is there it’s really important to be able to distill all of that information into a way that makes sense for our customers, our stakeholders, and for the industry that we engage in. I had this prime opportunity to join the group, and I was given a lot of runway to try some new things. Our brand at the time was about 125 years old, and we were starting to think about the future.
What can we do different? What can we add? What can we change, and what do we just continue to develop to develop as a team? I’ve been in the department for five years now. I’ve been really proud of how the team has grown and everything that we’ve done, and I’m looking forward to where we take it next.
Q: What is your favorite thing to promote at PLM?
LD: The people. That’s an easy question. It’s not just our people – it’s our insureds and our stakeholders as well. This is a people business. I think it’s really important to highlight who is behind the PLM brand.
We spend a lot of time making sure that we provide the correct coverages, the best coverage for our clients. But it’s our people that make the difference from our claims process to the risk management and consultation that we do to customer service.
Who’s answering all of your phone calls? It’s the people there that that help, make us different. It’s also important to show who we serve as well as a mutual. We’re all about putting the customer first and putting people first. It’s an easy thing to promote at PLM and it’s my favorite thing.
Q: Why PLM?
LD: We are the only company that solely does what we do – serving our clients and the lumber and building material industries. We’ve been doing that for almost 130 years, and we’re here to stay. We are a part of the industry. We understand what is going on, with your business and our main goal and sole goal as a mutual insurance company is to serve you.
