My sister is a breast cancer survivor twice in 14 years and Fox Chase Cancer Center in Northeast Philadelphia is excellent with testing, surgery and follow-up. Without their persistence, I’m not sure my sister would be with us today.
When my daughter was a pregnant teenager, CORA Services (Counseling or Referral Assistance) in Northeast Philadelphia helped us get through everything with loving care and compassion.
Then I split my donation with whomever we are doing the Day of Caring for that year or to the foundation that the speaker comes in that year. The stories tug at my heart; St. Baldrick’s, Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House, etc.
This year I am giving to Ronald McDonald House and the Fox Chase Cancer Center.
And I appreciate the fact that PLM enables us to participate in the Day of Caring sites. It makes me take a step back and realize how fortunate my family and I are, and if anything does happen, there are resources out there for every stage of our lives and that we are not alone. I love giving back to the Community!
